|Thoughts on TEs|

I first tried TEs around 2004 when I stupidly paid money to start an Amazon affiliate and then mindlessly surfed for hours to get a few views for my generic banners that generated nothing for me. Thankfully, "I got better" (nod to Monty Python.)
Once my children were older, I took time to learn about marketing and realized the Internet was a big place and people were not out looking for me. I needed to find them. Look at a TE and ask yourself who surfs there. Those are the people who will see your advertising. Give them something worth looking at. They are not there to read your life story (save that for
a blog or ebook) or all the technical specs for your product. They want to quickly see what unique thing you offer and find the button to sign up or buy if they find it interesting.
Use the right tool for each job. Blogs, TEs, mailers...all work differently. Don't use a screwdriver as a hammer.
