|What Christians Believe|
|Rev. John Harrison | February, 25 2018 09:36 PM | Comments (0)|
America was a country founded by men, who wanted to share the gospel of Jesus. Even Christopher Columbus, sailed to bring the gospel to the indies. His crew would observe Christian rites during the voyages. Every time they turned the half hour glass to keep time, they would cry out “Blessed be the hour of our Savior’s birth / blessed be the Virgin Mary who bore him / and blessed be John who baptized him.”
Sharing the gospel was very important to our founding fathers. Benjamin Harrison V, my 7th great grandfather and the other 55 men who signed The Declaration Of Independence, believed that we were a Christian nation of different denominations. They did not want Britain to set up a bishop from the Church of England in America. They believed and taught that we needed to repent of our sins, live according to the morals of the Bible, and that we are forgiven from our sins by faith alone in the blood that was shed on the cross. They also felt, that as long as a person accepted the message that Jesus died on a cross for our sins and then rose again, should be allowed to choose their own denomination. They believed that Christians agreed with who Jesus was, that he died on the cross for our sins and that obedience was a result of a persons love for God. They felt that was what made us a Christian and anything else we did not have to see eye to eye on. I would like to share what are the basic teachings that every Christian believes. There are many cults out there, and it is very important to know what every Christian agrees with. I invite any denomination and any person, who agrees with these points, to join me in any street evangelism that I set up. I will help and teach any denomination that believes in the following points. Anyone who agrees with these beliefs are invited to join me in sharing their faith on the streets.
What do Christians believe? We believe in the trinity. While the word trinity is not in the Bible, the teaching is. The Bible teaches us that there is one God, that consists of three distinct persons, with distinct function. The three persons of the Godhead is The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son or The Holy Spirit. The Son is not the Father or The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father or The Son. However all three share the same essence of God. There is one God who consists of three persons. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, Jesus is God and we believe in God the father, but do not agree with the teaching of God the mother.
What do Christians believe? We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is the final authority for all doctrine. A Christian believes that all doctrine must be based on the Bible. We are not to add to the Bible and we are not to take away from it. We do not accept any religion or book that disagrees with the Bible. We love you, but our basis is the Bible and can only back up denominations that are in agreement here. There are many cults that have changed the Bible and written books that they call a new revelation. We can not, and will not allow those teachings teachings to be taught on our pulpits.
What do Christians believe? We all believe that Jesus is the word that became flesh. We believe that he is God, not an angel or the brother of Satan. We all believe that he was born in a manger. He was born of the virgin Mary. He was Jewish, he came from the line of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. He was from the line of David and he is the messiah that was promised to the Jews, by the prophets and that in him all the nations would be blessed. We all believe that he is the only way to heaven. Any religion that teaches differently is not a Christian denomination and we can not back up your religion. We love you, will share the Gospel with you, but will not approve of your teachings. Therefore, we will not allow you to share our pulpits.
What do Christians believe? We believe that we have all sinned against God. None of us are without sin. Our sinful nature has been passed down to us from Adam and Eve. Sin is not doing what we know that we should, and doing that which we know that we should not do. At times we even do things wrong not realizing it is wrong. True, we may at times do that which is right. However, if we look back we all would have to admit that we have done things that are wrong.
What do Christians believe? We believe that God is love and at the same time just. We believe that there is a heaven and there is a hell. God who is love, wants everyone to go to heaven. He is not willing that anyone should perish. However, we also believe that God is just and can not allow the violence, sexual immorality and lawlessness to continue. The Bible teaches us that the “wages of sin is death.” Everyone of us deserves to pay the price for our wrong doing. That is what hell is all about. However, God is love and gave us his only begotten Son. It is trough him, that we can be forgiven. I will explain this in the next paragraph.
What do Christians believe? We believe that Jesus died for our sins and then rose again three days later. Because we disobeyed God, and lived a lawless life, we deserve to die. All of us deserve to go to hell. However, God loves us, became a man and died on the cross in our place. Then Jesus rose again on the third day. This was a physical resurrection and not a spiritual one as the cults claim. Jesus came alive bodily. He was able to eat, you were able to touch him. He was not a ghost, he came alive bodily. He was alive just as much as you and I are today. God has given us a free will. Anyone who puts there faith in what Jesus did on the cross, and puts their faith in the resurrection will go to heaven. Anyone who rejects the gospel will spend eternity in hell. There is only one way to heaven, and it is faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross.
What do Christians believe? We believe in both a positional and experimental sanctification. Sanctification is the teaching that we would do what is right. Works do not save us, but they follow every believer. Positional sanctification means that when we believe and accept the gospel, God considers us holy and living right. Positionally we are right with God, but still have areas in our lives that need to change. That change is called experimental sanctification. When we come to Christ we are committing to live lives that are right. We are making a decision to love God with all of our hearts and to love others as ourselves. Works do not save us, only faith in Christ saves, but they flow out of a heart of love. As we love God and others we start to make changes in our lives. It is not something that comes overnight. It is a process that we work on for the rest of our lives. However, we do not make excuses. We do whatever it takes to live lives that are pleasing to God and lives that love others. We daily look at our lives and see if there is anything that needs changing. We put our faith in God to change our hearts and lives, and then we begin to live our Christian faith. It is faith that takes action. While change does take time, and it is a life time process, we should be able to look back at our lives and see a change. If Jesus is really Lord, we do not hold things back. We make changes instead.
What do Christians believe? We believe that the gospel is for all people. Some churches are
What Do Christians believe? We believe in sexual purity. Sex was created by God for reproduction and is allowed to be enjoyed only between a married man and woman. All other sexual activity is wrong. We love you. You are allowed to come to our meetings to hear the gospel. However, you are not allowed to join us in reaching the loss. Homosexuality, cross dressing, same sex marriage, premarital sex and sex with any animal are against the teachings of the Bible. This is a Christian ministry and we are responsible before God to uphold his morals at our meetings. So please feel free to come to our meetings to hear the gospel, but I have to ask you not to help us with our evangelistic outreaches. We can not refer anyone to any church, religion or denomination that disagrees with our view on sexual morality.
What do Christians believe? We believe that the gospel is for all people. Some churches are very legalistic and will not allow certain people into there churches. I understand this is an area that these churches need to grow in. However, I can not refer new Christians to these churches. The gospel is for all people. We are save by faith alone and not by works. I will work with churches that don't care if someone has tattoos, they don't care about the length of their hair, they don't care if they have piercings and they don't care if the women are wearing pants or dresses. Anyone with long or short hair, (male or female) piercings (male or female), tattoos (male or female) any woman wearing pants made for a woman are allowed at our meetings and will not be turned away from membership.
